Overview
FlowDesk is made up of two parts: an app that runs on your Android XR headset, and a small host agent you install on your Mac or Windows computer. Together they let your headset display extra virtual monitors that stream from your computer over your local Wi-Fi network.
This policy explains what data FlowDesk does — and doesn't — collect. Devadvent does not operate any servers that your screen content passes through, and FlowDesk does not require an account to use.
Information we do not collect
- No account or sign-in is required to use FlowDesk.
- No names, email addresses, contacts, SMS, or call logs are accessed or collected.
- No location data is collected.
- No analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs are included in the app.
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
How the app works with your data
The video and input data that make up your virtual monitors are streamed directly between your headset and your computer over your local network. This traffic is not routed through, or stored on, any FlowDesk server — Devadvent has no visibility into what is shown on your screens.
A new headset cannot connect to your computer until you approve it from the host agent, so pairing always requires action on your part.
App permissions
The Android XR app requests the following permissions, used only for the purposes below:
- Wi-Fi / network state and multicast: to discover and connect to your computer on the same local network.
- Camera / hand tracking: used on-device by the Android XR platform for spatial tracking and hand gestures so you can place and resize your virtual monitors. Camera data is processed on-device and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted by FlowDesk.
- Foreground service / notifications: to keep an active streaming session running and to let you know when a monitor connects or disconnects.
Downloads
FlowDesk's desktop host agent is distributed via file hosting on Vercel. Downloading it is subject to Vercel's own privacy practices, which you can review at Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
Because FlowDesk does not collect personal data on a server, there is nothing for us to retain. Any local settings are stored only on your headset and computer, and are removed when you uninstall the app or host agent.
Children's privacy
FlowDesk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
